Petition to Review MPs Expenses

Additional Information

Petition to review the current expenses system which currently allows MPs to:

- earn a basic salary of £65k approx.

- claim an additional £29k in 'expenses' (James Duddridge MP, Conservative, Southend East.)

- claim £1570 a month for an additional London home, while renting out one they own (David Amess MP, Southend West)

- claim £95.4million in 2008-2009, £90.7million in 2009-2010,and £71million in 2010-2011 on expenses such as iPads, first class train travel and hotel bills in (Source: The Guardian, October 2012)

In the past three years, the cost of MPs wages plus additional expenses has topped £300million- think how many schools, hospitals, social workers, care homes, Police Officers that could pay for?

Or would you rather your taxes go on fat cats iPads and smartphones and having their moats cleaned?
