Petition Action

petition to stop mandatory organ donation

Petition Details

Not to make organ donation mandatory

Additional Information

Mandatory organ donation takes the human rights of the individual away. The government does not own an individual and because of this it should not be their decision, no one but the individual should have the right to decide what happens to their body and it is ethically, culturally and spiritually wrong.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Organ donation is voluntary in the UK and there are no plans to make it mandatory, We're therefore not exactly sure what further action you want the UK Government or Parliament to take.

If you want the UK Government and Parliament not to introduce an automatic opt in for organ donation, you may wish to sign this petition instead:
