Plain English electricity & gas pricing
Energy companies should have to show how much it would cost to provide electricity & gas for a average size property with average power usage, on each tariff, per year.
For instance, if supplier A quoted an average cost of £1000 per year & supplier B quoted £950, it would be instantly obvious which is cheaper.
If all companies had to use the same formula it would simplify the whole process & help to make the market more competitive & thus drive down prices as consumers could change supplier, with confidence, knowing exactly how much cheaper the new tariff would be.
