Protect freedom of expression by ensuring independent press regulation
If a press regulatory body has a statutory basis, with political or government involvement in appointment of regulators, there is a significant risk of political or government interference in freedom of expression. We support the establishment of a robust press regulator, which is independent of the press, politicians and government.
