Petition Action

Provide a 9-1 GCSE Law syllabus and encourage examination boards to follow it.

Petition Details

GCSE law is a great qualification as it allows students who do not have the knowledge to perform at a-level to show their ability in another way. Sadly, all the exam boards that provide the subject will scrap it in 2018. This petition calls on the government to provide a syllabus after that.

Additional Information

"GCSE Law helps students to develop skills of selection, analysis, critical thinking and decision making, and builds an awareness of the rights and responsibilities of individuals" AQA
Without this subject, we risk causing a lack of knowledge around students who no longer have any reason to study law at 16. All the exam boards... Namely OCR and AQA plan to abolish the subject! http://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/law/gcse/law-4160
