Petition Action

Public Enquiry into the Northern Ireland Hospital Infections that lead to baby deaths.

Additional Information

We call upon the Northern Ireland Health Minister, Mr Edwin Poots, to reverse his decision not to hold a Public Enquiry into the circumstances and decisions that have led to, directly or indirectly the infection and subsequent deaths of babies, of Pseudomonas, in the affected Northern Ireland hospitals. As Mr Poots, his department and the hospitals are public bodies, and are given the position of trust by the people of Northern Ireland, it is unacceptable that the Northern Ireland public be denied access to this means of lawful examination and understanding surrounding the tragedy. The people of Northern Ireland therefore request a Public Enquiry into this incident.
