Petition Action

Pupil funding to be given to every child of school age

Additional Information

We want the Government to change the way the pupil funding is allocated, so that every child of compulsory school age in the UK gets allocated a set amount.

This amount to be given to parents in the form of a 'virtual voucher' or otherwise as the Government sees fit (well thought-out, so it was not abused and to ensure that the money was being spent on education), to be applied in 1 of 3 situations:

State education - To be put towards a state education, as it does currently.

Independent school fees - To be used to help fund independent school fees, thus encouraging more accessibility to alternative types of education and helping families to pay for this education choice.

Home education - To help cover the costs currently borne solely by the families that choose to home educate, where there is no financial provision and enabling more people to home educate. Those who already home educate could have opportunities opened up to them with some funding.
