Petition Action

Put the minimum wage up to living wage by October 2017

Petition Details

The minimum wage as of 2016 was £7.50 for anyone over 25 however the living wage what is really needed to live is £9.15 the give meant think that by puting the wage up a little at a time is going to help us but everything else such as price rent tax goes up by 2020 living wage will be over £12ph

Additional Information

We need to make a stand and get this changed ASAP the government will need to change the minimum wage to £9.15 this year 2017 not by 2020 as by 2020 to live we will need a lot more then £9.15ph.

People are struggling to have fun as rent is at a all time high and council tax is set to rise by up to 4.99% making more working class people worse off.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition calling for the Government to set the National Living Wage at £9.15 per hour by October 2017, if that's what you would like to happen.
