Petition Action

Re-evaluate the current law regarding cannabis use.

Additional Information

I think it’s about time for the government to have a new discussion as to weather people in the UK that use cannabis should be deemed to be criminals?

It has been scientifically proven by government appointed scientists that cannabis is less harmful than alcohol and tobacco yet these drugs remain legal for adults to consume whilst anyone choosing to consume cannabis risks becoming a criminal and having to face all the consequences and difficulties that having a criminal record can bring.

I don’t know weather legalization, decriminalization or a new form of hybrid classification is what’s needed and I don’t really mind what sort of constraints the government wants to put in to satisfy any concerns you may have, I just want some sort of common sense arrangement that gives the public the option to be able to use this relatively harmless substance in one way or another for recreational use without having to break the law.
