Remove reprimands from PNC records as soon as the offender turns into an adult.
Juveniles have previously been handed reprimands by Police as this was an easy and quick fix for them. However, this record stays until your 100th birthday and can have detrimental impact on your career, especially during vetting.
I, myself have been in this predicament, when I applied to become a Police Constable and passed the rigorous recruitment process, only to be told that I failed my vetting due to a reprimand I received over 10 years ago and when I was a child, it was also disclosed on my application and I am sure other people have been penalised for this too!
