Reverse VAT Charges now payable by Residents living in Retirement Accommodation.
All Leaseholders living in Retirement Flats in future are liable for the new VAT Charge. This is being passed on by the Management Agents to Residents for the VAT on their Site Staff Salaries, Employers N.I. and Pension Contributions which was introduced in Sept 2018. With effect from Nov.2018.
It is essential in Retirement properties to have a Site Manager and whose salary etc. is included within the monthly service charge. This additional increase by the Government will put financial pressure on pensioners. As the rule stands now we have no option but to pay this unfair charge. We take pride in being self supporting and feel strongly that we are being penalized by this new ruling.
