Revisit legislation making 'electronic motorised boards' illegal on UK roads

Petition Details

It is currently illegal to use 'Personal Electric Vehicles' (PEV's) , such as Airboards and Airwheels, on UK streets.

The use of these small, economical and environmentally savvy methods of transport have now been vilified and users can face fines and charges.

Commuters need alternatives.

Additional Information

Sadly these innovative new personal vehicles, that are small enough to pack away, are being grouped into similar categories as cars.

With even more emphasis on green living alternatives to normal travel are being taken away. Unlike cycles these can't even be used in bike lanes.

"PEV's are mechanically propelled they require registration and a tax disc. There is no process for obtaining a licence, tax or insurance for hoverboards" - Wired.co.uk
