Petition Details

MSP's salaries are paid by the Scottish Government, they are elected in Scotland and represent their constituents in Scotland, so why should they be able to vote in our Parliament.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Members of the Scottish Parliament are not able to vote in the House of Commons unless they are also Members of the UK Parliament.

You may wish to submit a petition asking for the law to be changed so that MSPs are prohibited from also holding a seat in the House of Commons.
