Petition Action

Stop the criminalisation of Squatting

Additional Information

We the undersigned petition Parliament and the Government to drop clause 130 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill which would criminalise squatting in residential properties. In a time whne the government's vicious cuts in housing benefits causing massive homelessness, to criminalise squatting would only worsen such a situation. Many have no other option but to squat.
