Stop the outsourcing of childrens services
Social work experts warn against outsourcing children's services, including child protection. How can a private sector motivated by profit meet the needs of vulnerable children? What will happen if a company goes bust; if the budgets for fostering, day care, therapy are overspent; if experienced staff have to leave? We already expect families to cope under increasing strain.
Do we trust Serco, Capita, and G4S to care for children?
