Support the Police service and cancel the cuts
Budget cuts planned by the government threaten to change the face of policing in Britain. 16,000 fewer officers will make crime and disorder impossible to manage, destroy neighbourhood policing and stop the police from being able to deploy the numbers of officers required to bring the recent riots under control.
It's not just the numbers as all training has been cut back and specialist units who can respond quickly to situations eg firearms or public order specialist teams are being reduced or disbanded. Stop the cuts now!
