Petition Action

There needs to be a minimum of a 10 Hour Contract

Additional Information

Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) at the moment is a minimum of £56.80 per week and The National Minimum Wage is £6.31.

Therefore, if you are claiming JSA, you would have to work approximately 9 hours to earn the equivalent.

To encourage people back to work, you need to have a minimum hour contract. The zero hour contracts do not offer any job security whatsoever and is providing employees with less than JSA.

I believe the minimum contract of employment needs to be 16 hours to match the criteria for claiming JSA, furthermore, that will guarantee employees £100.96 per week.
