Petition Details

A no deal Brexit will threaten the security, pensions and health care access of many UK citizens living in the EU, as well as security of mainland UK nationals should protests occur at North-South or East-West border checks in Northern Ireland where it is expected protests will lead to violence.

Additional Information

Commons library briefing paper nbr 08397, on 7th November 2018 states government is aware that a no deal scenario will threaten UK security. The authors also found in focus group discussions 'There are strong expectations that protests against either North-South or East-West border checks would quickly deteriorate into violance.
