Validation of e-petitions

Additional Information

Given that the stated objective of e-petitions is to potentially have a debate in the House of Commons upon the attainment of 100,000 supporters a basic requisite should be that the petition should not be held to ridicule on the basis of incorrect usage of English. All e-petitions that contain spelling mistakes should be immediately invalidated.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
