Additional Information

The signatories of this petition support Votes at 16 years old.

If this petition passes we would like the Government to introduce a Bill to Parliament giving 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote in all elections.

Further to this, we would like the Government to instigate a public referendum should the Bill be rejected by Parliament so the electorate may decide.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
