Work for Benefits

Additional Information

I want the Government to introduce "Work for Benefits"

The benefits system was not set up for people to make it a lifestyle choice. Housing benefit and jobseekers allowance should be calculated together and divided by the National minimum wage and divided by 20 working days per month. Hours per day then would be calculated. Claimants would then be required to attend work teams under a Supervisor and carry out Community based work. If somebody decides not to turn up, they would lose benefit for the days they did not attend.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
