Scrap Hinkley Point C in favour of a different nuclear power plant design

Petition Details

Hinkley Point C has been proposed by EDF Energy to build a European Pressurised Reactor. This design has had repeated attempts to build, in Finland and France, with both way over budget and off time-scale. Therefore, I ask the government to not waste money subsidising this, and scrap the plans

Additional Information

Hinkley Point C has already been delayed. Why not invest in Gen IV plants or build a Gen III Plant, or even switch to modular reactors when commercially viable?
