Ensure that the BBC Food Website remains an integral part of the BBC's output.

Petition Details

The BBC Food website carrying more than 11,000 recipes is to close as part of a plan to cut £15m from the corporation's online budget.
All existing recipes will be mothballed, although the commercial BBC Good Food website will remain.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This decision is the responsibility of the BBC. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.

You could start a petition calling on the Government not to make cuts to the BBC's funding.
