Petition Action

Stop the rot. Reclaim our decaying housing stock and dilapidated buildings.

Petition Details

The Red Cow, grade II listed former hotel in Donington, Lincolnshire is one of thousands of abandoned and delapidated potential dwellings in the UK. Excessive regulation by the Local Council has prevented a succession of purchasers from developing the property to the detriment of the High Street.

Additional Information

It is public record that the, since ceasing operation in 2009, the council has allowed the property to fall into an increasingly dangerous state of disrepair. Despite various petitions calling on them to act they have failed to do so.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. There are a number of policies already in place to incentivise local authorities to bring empty buildings (back) into residential use, for example, the New Homes Bonus. It's not clear what specific action you want to the Government to take in addition to existing schemes.
