Create an ' ice cream van' exclusion zone around primary schools, unless specifically invited onto school grounds for special occasions or an agreed day of the week. The suggested exclusion distance is quarter of a mile.

Childhood obesity is a growing problem and healthy eating habits are created at a young age.

Parents want the opportunity for a positive engagement with their child, and not to be immediately catapulted into an argument.

By inviting the vendor onto schools premises on a specific day, parents can plan to treat their children and use it as a motivational tool for good behaviour.

These vans leave their diesel engines idling and often have to park 'inconsideratly' or illegally.
