Stop UK Government From Abandoning Animal Sentience Clause

Petition Details

Under EU law animals are recognised as intelligent beings capable of feeling pain and emotion, however it has been revealed in the past few days that the UK government will be abandoning issues relating to animal sentience in post-Brexit law.

Additional Information

The Animal Welfare Act simply doesn't and will not include animal sentience, which isn't good enough. It isn't just domesticated animals that should be protected by law, it is proven that the acknowledgment of animal sentience has improved animal welfare across the region. Sign if you believe that all animals should be acknowledged as emotionally intelligent beings.
