Petition Action

To create correct training for police who investigate rape allegations.

Petition Details

Too many rape victims have been let down by our justice system. They themselves are made to feel like it was their fault, or they were in the wrong.
This is not right. Do victims of theft find themselves being treated the same way?

Additional Information

70% Of women will not report a rape.
Conviction rates for rape are far lower than other crimes, with only 5.7% of reported rape cases ending in a conviction for the perpetrator.
Correct training needs to be provided for police officers who investigate rape allegations, so these victims can be treated with respect, listened to and helped.
