Ban perpetrators of domestic violence representing themselves in family court

In domestic abuse cases in family court, the abuser continues to abuse and control their victim by choosing to self-represent. This is a way for them to obtain personal information i.e. medical records about their victim.

Additional Information

Women’s aid are aware of the perpetrators motives and are in agreement the way family courts are run needs to change. Women are losing their children due to domestic abuse even when they leave the abuser the abuse still continues. The abuser uses the family court to obtain personal information on their victim by self-representing. This needs to be stopped. The criminal courts have put this in place so why not the civil courts? Women are being put through massive amount of stress during these proceedings when the protection can be put there! Cafcass also need in-depth training on domestic abuse.
