Petition Action

Abolish Orders-in-Council and nullify any legislation obtaining to the UK or its Overseas Territories that has been enacted by it

Additional Information

For the government to:

i) abolish and ban orders-in-council, not only in name but in essence and function. That is, to abolish and ban mechanisms whereby a) legislation obtaining to either the UK or its overseas territories can be enacted without first having to be voted on by parliament, and b) whereby court decisions relating to the UK or its overseas territories can by overruled by the government without debate in or involvement of parliament

ii) nullify any existing legislation obtaining to either the UK or its overseas territories that was enacted using said mechanism

iii) explain, publicly, why such an undemocratic mechanism still exists and is still used by UK governments
