Petition Action

Ban google ireland from administering and running services in Britain

Petition Details

We in Britain do not want google ireland taking over provision of google services to Britain and prefer they revert back to the USA if they cannot set up a facility on the UK mainland that adheres to British laws on privacy rights of British users.

Additional Information

Google ireland seizing control of goolge services provided to the UK would allow the european union and google to exploit EU law in ireland to breach the privacy and civil rights of everyone in Britain and such a practice is wholly unacceptable, if google can't set up a UK administration facility they should switch all British accounts back to the Unites States of America, failure of google to comply should result in them being blocked from the United Kingdom for our protection.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things that the UK Government or Parliament are responsible for. The UK Government or Parliament aren't responsible for where Google chooses to set up its offices.

You could start a new petition about something that the UK Government or Parliament are responsible for. For example, you could start a new petition asking for a new law to state that companies that operate in the UK must be based in the UK, if that's what you'd like to happen.
