Petition Action

Increase government spending into childhood cancer research and treatment.

Petition Details

Our son is in remission from cancer the treatments left him with periods of severe neuropathy, myopathy and more seriously AVN of the spine, some were not so lucky. The toxicity of outdated, adult developed chemotherapy is often the killer not the cure. We need kinder more effective cures.

Additional Information

Pharma companies not financially encouraged to undertake childhood cancer clinical trials, still sighting the word ‘RARE’ 1 in 500 kids in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer by age of 14, 250 kids a year die of cancer. The toxicity of the treatments often a contributing factor. Cures decades old, developed for adults, the systems that are in place mean the value of a child’s life is determined by their economic worth. We MUST change this. More trials, more funding more implementation into NHS
