Life-long Warfarin to be free on NHS

Additional Information

Calls on the Government to include patients undergoing life-long Oral Anticoagulation Therapy, in particular Warfarin. To be exempt from prescription charges.

The drugs are used to prevent blood clots for a number of conditions and would lead to the patient being hospitalised if untaken.

Currently a patient like myself aged 26 is to pay £104 a year for the duration of my life. While conditions like Epilepsy and diabetes are included under the Medical Exemption Certificate.
