Petition Action

Safeguard Great British monuments and place names against removal or change.

Petition Details

Make it illegal for statues, monuments, road names and place names to be demolished, removed or renamed without consideration by a panel of qualified experts in to their historical significance and a public consultation.

Additional Information

Great Britain has been shaped throughout history by wars, innovation, expedition, adventure, human endeavour and human sacrifice.

It is easy to examine a period of history in isolation, judge it with modern ideals and hindsight and find fault with the actions of those who came before us. Never the less these events and the prominent figures associated with them directly impacted on the success of the country and its position in the world today. This rich history must not be sanitised or hidden.
