Recreation of the Council of the North

Additional Information

Recreation of Council of the North as established in 1472. The Council of the North could direct its own affairs and retain VAT revenues and Excise duties and set its own business and property taxes. A Confederation would be a better system than the current Unitary State built on Democratic Centralism.

The North could subsidise transport and build infrastructure like reservoirs and water supplies.
Nationalisation stripped Northern cities of their civic pride taking away trams and transport and utilities.

A Council of the North was deemed essential by Edward IV, a Yorkist, and since the monarchy ceased to be Lancaster or York the whole focus has been London
