Extend CJRS cut-off so employers can claim furlough payments for new employees

Petition Details

The government should revise the rules regarding furlough pay so that companies can claim furlough pay for employees taken on after 30 October.

Additional Information

The Government are failing to support workers who have been recently employed by businesses affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. I work in a non-essential retail store and live in a Scottish city that is soon to go into lockdown. I was employed by the company in November 2020. As I have only been in employment with the company for one month, they are not entitled to claim furlough pay for me. I know others will be in the same position and believe it is unfair. We are not choosing to not work.
