Petition Action

Require all pet businesses to have a trained pet first aider

Petition Details

The Safe Pets and People campaign is calling for it to be made law, that all pet businesses in the UK should have a pet first aider.

Additional Information

Pet businesses and professionals include but are not limited to: Dog groomers, kennels, catteries, dog walkers, pet sitters, and hospitality businesses which allow pets, such as hotels.

For humans, in a place of work it is mandatory for someone to be a recognised first aider, and for that person to have up to date skills and knowledge, after undertaking a recognised course.

A pet first aid qualification and designated first aider should also be mandatory for pet or pet friendly businesses, because not only does it help those we trust to care for our pets save lives if the pet is injured, it can also help protect them from further injury too.
