Reduce shopping bag price
Most people need more than one shopping bag. Earlier the price of a shopping bag was 10 pence but now it has gone up to 30 pence depending on the showroom. If a person has to pay so much more for the back of the bag after shopping, then it becomes extra pressure on the person.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
The Government requires retailers to charge a minimum of 10p for any single-use carrier bags in England, but beyond this it is up to individual retailers what to charge for carrier bags.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to reduce the mandatory charge of single-use carrier bags, but retailers could still charge 10p (or more) for these if they chose to do so.
