Securing UK Energy Independance for gas and electric generating capacity for the future

Additional Information

In consequence of external geopolitical risks to UK energy secuirty and price stability, the need to urgently break ground on new sources of electical and gas supply to replace end of life power stations and secure our future energy needs, and the opportunity to stimulate the UK ecconomy with large long term capital projects.

The UK government should:

1. Adopt a strategic policy to become self sufficent in gas and electrical energy with regards to infrastrucutre, supply and ownership

2. To crystalize the road map to replace current end of life infrastrucutre and plan for future increased capacity

3. To maximise the benefit to the UK ecconomy in both the construction and operation of new facilities

4. The energy debate be prioritised as one of the most significant challenges facing the UK for the next 25+ years and as such, short term cross party politicing needs setting aside and parliment should work constructively to make urgent progress on this multi term challenge
