Petition Action

Impose appropriate infection control measures for visitors

Petition Details

There has been widespread outbreak of infectious disease (s) in certain regions of the world (e.g. China) but the exact details are unknown. The enforcement of new infection control measures for visitors can help preventing or reducing the influx of potentially deadly virus or bacteria.

Additional Information

The National Health Service (NHS) has reached a critical point because of severe manpower shortage. The economy and daily living of the people have been seriously affected during the COVID pandemic. Prevention is better than cure. Appropriate infection control measures for visitors can help prevention of another deadly outbreak and collapse of the NHS

Appropriate infection control measures can include
- Suspension of non-essential visa approval for visitors coming from regions with known pandemic outbreak.
- To have body temperature measurement, request for proof of effective vaccination against pandemic infection (e.g. COVID) and negative infectious status (e.g. polymerase chain reaction [PCR] test results) for visitors coming from regions with unknown pandemic outbreak.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the transmission of infectious diseases, but it's not clear exactly what new arrangements you want the Government to put in place, or when you want these to apply.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. If you do start a new petition you'd need to provide your full name.
