Petition Action

Ban the use of fireworks in close proximities of live stock in residential areas

Petition Details

Ban the sale to the general public. If this is broken then a fine to be implemented and help from Emergency services.

Additional Information

Many people have animals such as; cats, dogs and horses etc.. fire works can be dangerous and cause many animals to fall ill and may not receive emergency attention in time. For example. 6 different houses on my road last year had fire work displays causing my horses to become extremely distressed and requiring vet attention. If the vet didn't get there within 20 minutes one of my horses would have died.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It wasn't clear if you wanted a ban on the sale of all fireworks to the general public, or just a ban on the use of fireworks in certain areas.

If you want a specific ban on the use of fireworks in certain areas, you could start a new petition setting out clearly in what areas you want the use of fireworks to be banned.
