Give financial support to people that have special dietary requirements

Petition Details

Give financial aid in the form of an extension of PIP or a regular form of payment for people diagnosed with conditions that mean they have special dietary requirements they need to buy food for, such as Coeliac, IBD's, IBS and allergies.

Additional Information

A loaf of normal Asda essentials bread is £0.45p
The cheapest loaf of Gluten Free bread in Asda is £1.90, and the loaves are smaller. Gluten free products that have a short shelf life, like bread, tend to go really quickly as well, so if you had to buy a “brand” gluten-free bread like Warburtons, it goes up to £2.15.

Lactose-free milk in Asda is £1.40.
If you work out the price of 1litre from a 4 pint bottle of normal milk, it’s £0.56p.

People on low incomes simply cannot afford this.
