Invest in educating society in basic nutrition principles, like macronutrient requirements, energy demands, nutrition sources, nutritional deficiencies, surpluses, understanding calories, portion size, understanding nutrition lables on the packaging, meal planning, consequences of unhealthy eating.

Additional Information

Obesity has become a huge public health concern. Bilions of pounds are currently spent for tackling the consequences of obesity. I would suggest investing in prevention of obesity, rather than in the consequences, by making nutrition a mandatory subject at schools, where kids can learn the foundation of human nutrition and would be more informed when making food choices and meal planning. I would also suggest implementing a healthy food preparation workshops, alongside the lecture materials.
