Remove income tax from service charges paid at hospitality venues

Petition Details

Many hospitality businesses pre-add optional service charges to their bills. This can be paid to staff but it is taxed. We think income tax on these payments should be removed.

Additional Information

In the hospitality industry we often don't have big salaries, and this tax cut will help improve the take home pay of many people. I have worked for many years in the UK hospitality industry. Many hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes etc apply service charge. We don't think this should be taxed because we are already paying tax on our basic salaries.
