Petition Action

Using the fourth pillar of Trafalgar Square to honour Sir David Attenborough.

Petition Details

Use its influence to help with my campaign to honour Sir David Attenborough by erecting a permanent statue of him on the Fourth plinth of Trafalgar Square instead of meaningless temporary works of art.

Additional Information

Sir David Attenborough has been a giant in highlighting the amazing natural world in which we live and the dangers and threats civilization is posing to its very existence. Many of us would not be aware of the breathtaking beauty and diversity of our planet were it not for his inspirational media work.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what is displayed on Trafalgar Square is a matter for the Mayor of London and London Assembly, not the Government or Parliament.
