Get the police to focus on core activity.
Get the Home Office to point out to Chief Constables that they are not doing the job that the public expects and pays for.
Policing in Britain is remarkable. We are the only major country where the police are able to carry out their daily business unarmed. That is because the whole basis for policing is based on consent. There is ample vidence that that consent is being eroded by the way policing is being conducted.
