Petition Action

Amnesty on prescription fines for diabetics entitled to medical exemption certificates

Additional Information

We believe there should be an amnesty on fines for people with diabetes until the need for a medical exemption certificate has been properly communicated by the NHS BSA and pharmacies.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The issuing of fines to people who have not paid for prescriptions is a matter for the NHS BSA, which is independent of both the Government and the Department of Health.
