Allow 2 weeks of school holiday to be flexible and booked in advance within term time
I would like to reduce the school summer holiday by two weeks and compensate the time as a credit for parents to choose when to take their children out of school for a fortnight, taken in weekly denominations and booked as you would at work with an agreed notice period.
This will enable families to book holidays outside the fixed school term and rebalance the licence the tourist industry is handed to hike prices during the static holiday periods knowing parents have no other option.
School work missed could be arranged as holiday homework with minimal disruption.
