Road safety for all users is key. If an accident occurs evolving a pedal cyclist the chances are a serious injury may ensure. This poor cyclist is now injured, emergency services are called and thus the drain on the nhs begins.
Any motor vehicle user on the public highway has to hold a licence to use that vehicle. In order to obtain that licence they must demonstrate awareness of the rules of the road and are held accountable for their actions.
Cycle paths have been enhanced yet a great deal choose the road.
Helmets and protective clothing are available yet a great deal choose not to even wear a helmet.
Proposal : All cyclist to pass a highway code test prior to using the road.
Helmets to be mandatory. If cyclist in breach of the above then penalties to be paid.
