Employ IDVA's (independent domestic violence advocate) in ALL family courts

Petition Details

Employ IDVA's in EVERY family & magistrate court to advise on ALL cases involving domestic abuse.

They are highly qualified and trained in all areas of DA so therfore vital to ALL cases involving it for fair and factual hearings.

The courts can ONLY then make INFORMED decisions for each case.

Additional Information

1 in 4 women, 1 in 5 children & 1 in 6 men experience domestic abuse with a vast number ending up through family or magistrates court.

Currently many survivors are representing themselves in a system UNTRAINED in this area.

For an informed and fair outcome for all it is ESSENTIAL to have the expertise of an IDVA who can advise courts on all cases where DA has been claimed.
