Petition Action

English player quota in the Premier League

Additional Information

Government to Debate...............that the Premier League Constitution demands 4 English players appear in every team first 11 line up from season 2015/2016

In Germany 50% of Bundesliga match time is played by Germans.
In Spain the figure is 59% -in the Premier League the figure is 32% ( BBC Sport)

I would like our government to instruct the FA and Premier league to write into their rules that participation in the Premier League is dependent on their agreeing to having 4 English players on the pitch during match time by the start of 2015/2016 and 6 players –the extra 2 may be either English or from Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland by 2017/2018.
